Only after Pier Giorgio’s death did his family know to what extent he served the poor. Take advantage of a group going to do what you keep thinking you should do and step outside of your comfort zone. We will be involved with one or more of the following - staffing the personal hygiene desk, assisting with passing out linens, and/or preparing the evening meal/snack. There is an opportunity to chat with the guests and learn more about homelessness.

Among the many interests of our patron Pier Giorgio were the higher forms of culture: he would frequently attend the opera and theater, and was able to recite whole passages of Dante by heart. In this spirit, we invite you to join us for an evening at Open Window Theatre. "Sister Calling My Name" tells the story about a brother coming to terms with his developmentally disabled sister as they reunite after eighteen years of deliberate separation.
We will either hang around the new lobby at Open Window for post-play discussion or pick somewhere to get drinks (determined by the mood of the participants).

Join us for a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. What better way to celebrate All Hallows’ Eve and All Saints Day than to bring honor to our Blessed Mother at the only Church-approved Marian apparition site in the United States? Our Blessed Mother appeared here to a Belgian immigrant, Adele Brise, back in October of 1859. For a great introduction to the history of the apparition and the shrine, see: http://www.shrineofourladyofgoodhelp.com/history/
We will carpool to Wisconsin on Saturday morning, visit an apple orchard with a corn maze in the afternoon (http://www.bushelandapeckmarket.com/), and make a meal together at an AirBnB rental that evening. We will also take time for adoration at a chapel in Green Bay. On Sunday we will attend 11 am Mass at the Shrine and spend a couple hours there - ending with a 2:00 pm hour of adoration. Our estimated return to the parking lot at Guardian Angels is 7:30 pm.

All are welcome to join us for prayer and fellowship! The most important thing for our patron, Pier Giorgio, was prayer before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. It was the source of his strength, charity, and sanctity. Without prayer Frassati would have been a prankster, an outdoorsman, and an activist - but not a Blessed. So too our Society, without our adoration hours, would be just another club. It is by coming together and uniting ourselves with our Eucharistic Lord that we can build true camaraderie on the foundation of faith.
